OHIO SPECTATOR, 20 July 1833

 

PETITION FOR DIVORCE -- Louisa Stephens vs. James D. Stephens }  This day the said Louisa Stephens filed in said court (Supreme Court, Richland County, Ohio), her Petition for a divorce against the said James D. Stephens, alleging for cause, willful absence for three years and upwards.  NOTICE is therefore hereby given to the said James D. Stephens to be and appear before the Judges of said Court at their Term next to be holden at Mansfield in said county, on the 11th. day of September next, and show cause of any he have, why the prayer of said petition should not be granted. - - Ellzey Hedges, Clerk, S.C. R. Co.

DIVORCE - Abigail Clark vs. Alanson Clark.  In the Supreme Court in and for the county of Richland, state of Ohio.  Notice is hereby given that said Abigail Clark filed her petition in the Supreme Court of said county for a divorce against her husband, Alansan Clark, setting forth as the cause therefore, willful absence for eight years adultery and total and gross neglect of duty.  The said Alanson Clark is therefore hereby notified to appear at the next term of said court, to be held at the court house in Mansfield, in said county, commencing on the 15th. day of September A.D., 1837, and show cause, if say he have, why the prayer of said petitioner should not be granted.  -- Ellzey Hedges, Clerk of Court.

RICHLAND SHIELD & BANNER, 24 March 1852

 

MARRIED, On the 21st. inst., by Christian Welty, Esq., Mr. Simon Baughman to Miss Susan Mercer, both of Monroe Twp., this county.

 

DIED, In Mifflin Twp., on Saturday the 20th. inst., of lung fever, Mr. John Andrews, Sr., aged 68 years and 13 days.  Mr. Andrews was an influential and highly esteemed citizen and leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his loss.  He was resigned to the will of Heaven and died with that composure which only a Christian can feel.  [scripture omitted]

 

DIED, on the 16th., of February, Isabel, wife of Fargus Morehead, aged 34 years.  Those who knew the deceased best, speak of her as possessing an unusual amiable and affectionate character.
